I wish my kids woud stop growing up so fast!

So, it is almost Gabby's 2nd birthday. In less than month she will be 2 and I just can't believe it. It feels like I just had her. She has grown up so much this last year. She is my little monkey who will climb on anything and jump. She will still pick up anything off the floor and stick it in her mouth. No matter what her brother is doing she will be doing it too. She loves her brother so much and even occasionally wears his diaper and jammies to bed. She looks up to him so much. I see the sibling love that I would always hope they would have. She will be going to school next year. A new school is opening up that has 2-3 year olds. The teacher was Christian's teacher at Tigard Playschool, Teacher Trudi. She is such a fantastic teacher. I'm so excited to see what Gabby can do there.

Christian is going to be 5 this year. This is so hard to believe as well. I still remember the birth and so happy that he is my little boy. He has been having a great year at Metzger Community Preschool. His teacher is wonderful and very sensitive to his needs. She is very patient and really has helped him learn all that he can learn in Prek. Next year he will be going to kindergarden. He will either be going to Gaarde Christian or Durham Elementary. He is so imaginitive at school. He is doing so well but has to work on talking when the teacher is talking and not disturbing others while they work. He gets so excited and forgets to be quiet. :)

We, as parents, take them for granted. We take their love, knowledge and just plain needs for granted. I plan on not taking it for granted anymore as they grow. They are learning and growing everyday and even though they drive me crazy a lot of the time I could never want to be apart from them.

a long time since my last post

So it has been about 9 1/2 months since my last update.

This year has been a long one so far. There have been good days and bad days.

Some of the good days consist of going to So. Cali for Christians 4th birthday. We went and saw my brother, my sister in law and their family. They so graciously let us stay at their place and kept us entertained the whole time. We went to the beach one day, to my brothers fire station one day and on Christian's actual birthday we took him to Disneyland. It was so great. Christian had a great time but next time we go we are planning for a 3-5 day trip. There is just too much to see while your there. He went on some rides and amazingly enough he went on space mountain. He was so brave. We had a ton of fun and came home with a ton of memories.

Christian ended his year with Tigard Playschool with great memories as well. Teacher Trudi will be missed but he is now in Metzger Community Preschool. He has been a transition but it will go great within the next couple weeks. The only bad thing is that the preschool class meets during Gabby's nap time. She usually naps at 12 and Christian goes to school at 1:15. So hopefully I will get a lot of help for her naps or I will just have to drive Gabby around during the time Christian is at school. He is learning to write his name (he has to do it once a day) and just everything you should be learning in preschool. Next year he will be off to Kindergarden. Christian is now a "daddys boy" and only wants daddy. Ever since Gabby was born he has been going that way.

Gabby is getting so big. She is already 16 1/2 months old. I can't believe she is that big already. She knows how to say "thank you" "no" Momma" "dada" "bubby" "puppy" "papa" and even if she doesn't know the word she points to what she wants and we get it. She is starting to get on her brothers nerves only because she destroys what he is building, or rips papers that he is using but he still protects and sticks up for his sister.

Michael is still working harder than ever. We are still trying to get the business to improve sales but it is so hard in this economy. Michael is almost at 4 years with UPS. We love those benefits. He also got surgery on his shoulder this year. He is still recovering but it is better than it once was. He is back to playing golf and enjoying the roughhousing he does with Christian.

Another end to another year...

As I look outside to the winter wonderland I sit here thinking about this last month and last year.

This last year has been a hard and long road. The business is not doing all that it should be. It has had its ups and downs but more downs than ups. The economy has beaten us down but we are trying to stand tall against it. We have two options at this point.....put the business up for less than what we would like to get for it OR keep it going for a while longer and hope we dont go into to much debt. I think at the begining of the year we will put it back on the market while trying to improve our business financials.

Of course we have had a great year personally. On April 29th Gabriella Sophia Boehme entered into our world. She is the little princess if there ever was one. She has since begun eating solid foods, scooting (close to crawling), and saying her first word, Dada. Her brother is just so in love with her that it gets a little tiring, although I'm so happy he loves her instead of hating her. Never once has he ever said "mommy can we put sister back where she came from?" or "Make her go away." I'm very happy.

Christian is getting so big. He has started school this year and is loving so far. He has learned so much stuff. The transition has taken a while but now he is doing so well that he hardly even cares if I'm there or not. Every time I come back and get him he says "Mom, I had a great time at school." It is a great feeling knowing that your son is having a great time at school while you leave him there. He loves playing outside and he loves going to the bounce house places and playing with his friends.

Anyways this last year has been hard but we are growing and learning.

We have a new addition to our family

Introducing Sammy
This is our cat Sammy. He is about 6 years old and such a sweet cat. He used to belong to a classmates of Christian's. His owner's arnt really cat people but were trying to be for the sake of their daughter. But in the end it just didnt work out. Of course they are invited to come over anytime they want to check in on him or even to get updates from Christian at school.
It has been very adventureous since we have gotten him. I picked him up on Friday (11/21). I got home with him and while I was putting all the stuff in the house that the old owners got him he managed to open the door to the garage and run out. I caught him and brought him back inside. I had been feeling ill that day so that night I went into the hot tub to relax and try to feel better. I knocked on the wall of the house because I started to feel light headed and sick so I wanted Michael to come out and help me. Well he opened up the door and out goes Sammy again. We were unable to catch him and so he was left outside all night. We made lost signs and went door to door with pictures and phone numbers if they found him. That night we went out to dinner and came back to a phone message of one of our neighbors. He had found him in his back yard. The cat looked hungry and cold so he fed him and brought him in and called me. I went down there and got him. I have never been so happy to see that cat. The thing is we got him as a surprise to Christian. Since he was away this last weekend it worked out great.
So far he is doing well but I'm starting to wondering if I could be allergic to him. I have never had a long haired cat and since we got him I have had a head cold and stuffy and sneezy. I know that once Christian sees the cat there will be no way that we are getting rid of him so I will end up going on allergy medication. This cat is a very sweet lovable cat. He will just come up and want to be pet and sit on your lap. He used to be a therapy cat so he is perfect for us. And, yes, we did end up getting him a collar with a tag on it. So hopefully we wont have to do that again.
Anyways this is our newest family member.

Busy Busy Busy

Well it has been a while since I have updated this blog so I thought now is time.

Christian started school in September. It was a hard transition but we have finally gotten to a good period where he likes going to school. He is a very smart and artisitic little boy. He still loves being outside but now that the rain is coming it is hard for him to go outside too often.
Christian goes to a co-op school. It has kids from ages 2 up to Pre K. He is in the Mixed Aged Class at 10AM. His teacher is Teacher Trudi Sang. She is a really great teacher and Christian seems to like her. They have a couple animals at school but Christians favorite is Pancake the Rabbit. He loves to feed Pancake and pet him. At home, we have a beta fish named Swimmy. It is blue and Christian loves to feed him as well.

He loves his sister very much. He is always near her, says he loves her, loves to hold her and just be around her. And she loves him just as much. He entertains her like no one else can. We are extremely lucky we have kids who love eachother (so far!).

Gabriella has just grown so much. She is now 6 1/2 months and already knows how to wrap daddy around her little finger.

She is growing right on track and is very content in being held by mommy or daddy. She loves her food as well. She loves sweet potatoes, bananas and pears. She just recently got a jumper seat from a family member that she loves to stand up in. She loves to stand up so much that she wont sit on my lap, she would rather stand on my lap. You can just see her little personality come out.

In October, we went down and saw my brother and sister in law. My neice Emilee just had her first birthday. Gabriella and Emilee got to visit and see eachother. I do wish we lived closer because they would be such great friends, but we will just have to stick to seeing eachother when we can.

In December, Gabby will be coming on our yearly womans weekend in San Francisco. I think she will have a ton of fun seeing more family. We do this yearly trip to see eachother but also to have fun without the kids (except the baby) and without the hubbys. It is nice for sure. It is always nice to get out of town for the weekend.

Michael is working hard like usual. Right now he is on disablity from UPS. He has been having some pain in his shoulder and found out that he actually has some calcium deposits on his bone. Not good thing to have but is going to a physical therapist to get it worked out. If it still hurts in December he will have to get a cortizone shot to heal the pain. He will then go back to UPS at night and PostNet during the day. He is not looking forward to go back but the benefits of UPS just are too good to let go of.

We are getting ready for the busy season coming. Hopefully people will come back to us and ship through this season. So far business has been pretty slow and so it has been hurting us but we are getting through it with the love and help of our parents.

In August 2009, Michael, Gabriella and I will be heading to Norway for Ingvild and Eivinds Wedding. Christian will be in Redding with my in-laws. I cant wait to go on a 10+ hour flight with a year and 4 month old! ha ha. but it will be worth it once we get there.

thats about it for us. I will try and update more often.

Erin and Michaels 6th Year Anniversary

Well it will soon be our anniversary. We are celebrating 6 years married and almost 10 years together. Almost a decade! Wow. That is a long time compared to some marriages in Hollywood. Ha ha ha.
We are lucky to have some people babysit the kids for us so that we can go out to dinner. A friend Kelly will be watching little Gabriella and James will be watching Christian. Christian loves to hang out with his Uncle James. It should be fun for the both of them. Kelly is a friend of mine who will be loving on Gabby while she is over there.
We plan on going out to dinner at PF Changs. I can't wait to go and have adult conversation without worrying about little kids running around and being bored and just causing chaos.

Welcome to our blog

Welcome to our blog area. You can come here to find out updates and see pictures of all of us. Hopefully I will be able to update this through out the years so you can always find out how we are doing.
